Stefanie hotel
Run by the Schick family since 1870, the Stefanie Hotel is housed in a restored, 6-storey building. Conveying an atmosphere of 19th century rococo splendour, the public spaces are luxuriously appointed with gleaming wall panelling, marble floors and gilded sconces. Mostly facing onto the quiet inner courtyard, the 126 guestrooms are well furnished in a sleek Viennese style with excellent beds. Some are a bit small, but all are beautifully maintained, as are the compact, tiled bathrooms with tub/shower combinations. The hotel offers a rich Continental buffet breakfast every morning in the sumptuous Kronprinz Rudolph restaurant, which resembles a Viennese ballroom. In summer it is also possible to enjoy breakfast in the leafy seclusion of the courtyard garden. The restaurant also serves regional and international cuisine for lunch and dinner, while the plush bar features concealed lighting that throws an azure glow over the artfully displayed bottles. |
