Hilton Vienna City hotel
Austria’s largest Congress hotel, the Hilton Vienna City is housed in a somewhat boxy but imposing 18-storey modern building, which overlooks the Danube Canal. The atrium-style lobby is very spacious and impressive, with elegant décor and a spiral staircase linking its split levels. There is also a coffee shop and bar in this area with ample seating and several shops. The 640 spacious guestrooms are well appointed and decorated in a range of styles, including Biedermeier, contemporary, baroque, and Art Nouveau. Regardless of room type, all are clean and well maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms with tub/shower combinations. Guests can enjoy the lavish Hilton breakfast in the new S'PARKS restaurant, which also serves a range of modern European à la carte specials like butterfish and shitake for lunch and dinner. Art-lovers will particularly appreciate the Murano glass items on display here. There is also a summer terrace for al fresco dining in fine weather. Attractively appointed with sculptures and artworks, the lobby bar is the perfect venue in which to enjoy speciality cocktails, classic bar snacks and live music. The hotel is attached to the City Air Terminal, the drop-off point for buses from the airport. A bridge also connects it to the landscaped, bird-filled Stadtpark. Despite its modernity, this property manages to provide plenty of Viennese flavour, allied to the highest levels of comfort. |
