Fuerst Metternich
The Fuesrt Metternich Hotel is housed in a fin-de-siecle terraced building with an ornate, pink and grey stone-cut façade. It retains many of its original architectural features, including an elaborate portico above the entrance and a staircase guarded at the foot by carved griffins. Though not especially large, the 55 guestrooms don’t feel cramped, thanks to their high ceilings. They also feature soothing neutral décor, complemented by laminate furnishings and feather pillows. All have partly marbled bathrooms with tub/shower combinations. The hotel’s bar – “Barfly's” – is one of Vienna’s most traditional drinking venues offering a range of 250 cocktails, 500 whiskies and 50 brands of cigars. A Continental buffet breakfast is offered every morning. |
