Hilton Hotel
Without doubt the Hilton is one of the best hotels in Budapest, with a unique location. Though it boasts a modern exterior, a notable and unique feature of the property is the 14th century monastery within its walls, which is visible from some of the rooms as well as from the lobby bar. The spacious lobby itself is elegantly appointed with a wood panelled reception area, a small souvenir shop and a number of comfortable seats. Also spacious, the 326 guestrooms are of an exceptional standard and, as one would expect, equipped with a full range of amenities. All rooms have a small antechamber separated from the main bedroom by a wooden screen. The en suite bathrooms are large and luxuriously finished in marble. There are a number of eating venues at the hotel, including the Art Nouveau gourmet restaurant, the “Dominican”, which serves regional and international cuisine, while offering spectacular views over the Danube. There’s also “Kalocsa” featuring gypsy music, as well as a rooftop cocktail bar and the Faust wine bar in the monastery's former wine cellar. |
