Astoria Hotel
Recently renovated, the Astoria Hotel is housed in a corner building with an ornate exterior, which dates back to the early 20th-century. This makes it one of the oldest establishments in Budapest. The medium sized lobby has retained a number of original features, to give it a truly old-style feel, with marble columns, antique furniture and dark green velvet upholstery. Though they vary in size and style, the 131 guestrooms are genteel, spacious, and comfortable, with high ceilings and renovations faithful to the original Belle-Epoque decor. All are decently maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms. Featuring stained glass windows and chandeliers, the hotel’s traditionally trendy Mirror Café & Restaurant awaits all guests with excellent Hungarian delicacies and a brilliant fusion of Eastern and Western flavours. The café part of the venue is a wonderful place to relive the Mittel-European coffee house tradition. |
